Vallejo III, Inc. had a very busy and successful 2007 show season thus far. We started out at the Scottsdale All-Arabian Horse Show in February, Buckeye Sweepstakes in Columbus, Ohio in May, then moved onto a very busy summer competing at Region IX Championships in Ft. Worth, Texas, Region XIII Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana and finally at Region XI Championships in Springfield, Illinois, along with numerous Class “A” shows. Vallejo III, Inc. ended the summer with a total of nine regional championships and six regional reserve championships.

Vallejo III’s multi-national champion stallion, Rohara Moon Storm+//, was happy to see his babies have a very impressive show season this year. Vallejo Zipinmoon+// found success beginning at the Scottsdale All-Arabian Show winning the Half-Arabian Western Pleasure with Bob Hart. At the Buckeye in Columbus, Ohio Vallejo Zipinmoon+// started down a new path with owner Trent Trahan winning the Half-Arabian Western Pleasure AAOTR 40 & over. He also brought home the Championship trophy in Half-Arabian Western Pleasure with Bob Hart up. Vallejo Zipinmoon+// competed at Region IX, Region XIII, and Region XI winning the Half-Arabian Western Pleasure with Bob Hart at all three shows. Noonday Moon, owned by Lynn Loucks and Vallejo III, Inc. had a great season as well starting out at Region IX winning Reserve Champion in the Half-Arabian Western Pleasure Junior Horse. Noonday Moon continued to make a name for him as the year progressed, winning the Half-Arabian Western Pleasure Junior Horse classes at both Region XIII as well as Region XI. Kisses Nthe Moonlight+/ owned by Kim Darrah and Linda McAferty expanded on her already impressive show record at Scottsdale winning Reserve Champion in the Half-Arabian Western Pleasure AAOTR 18 – 39 with owner Kim Darrah, as well as, Top Ten with Vallejo III, Inc. assistant trainer, Kiera Robinson in the Half-Arabian Western Pleasure class. Vallejo Moon Beam+ and owner Audrey Hart made the move from the Youth division to the Adult Amateur successfully winning the Arabian Western Pleasure AAOTR 18 – 35 at Region XI. Rohara Moon Storm’s get made an especially impressive mark at the Region XI show, with five Rohara Moon Storm+// get there they left undefeated with six regional championships, two of which were unanimous. Not only did Vallejo III, Inc. horses Vallejo Zipinmoon+//, Noonday Moon, and Vallejo Moon Beam+ receive champion ribbons in their respective divisions but also Moondoggie owned by Kim Jenkner and trained by Jody Strand won the Half-Arabian Western Pleasure AAOTR 50 & over, as well as, the Half-Arabian Ladies Side Saddle with Jennifer Schmitte. Moonstruck V owned by Rhonda Goselin-Brouillette and trained and shown by Brian Scoggins won the Dr. Scoggins Memorial Arabian Reining Horse class.

It was not only Rohara Moon Storm+// bred horses that made the Vallejo III, Inc. show season such a success. The wonderful stallion Mirage V+ owned by Elizabeth Conti entered into his first year as a bitted horse with a bang winning the championship in Arabian Working Cow Bitted Horse at the Scottsdale All-Arabian Show with the highest working cow score of the entire show. He continued his winning streak at Ft. Worth, Texas at the Region IX horse show taking home the championship in Arabian Working Cow Horse. He then went on to show his amazing versatility at Region XIII winning Top Five in the Arabian Western Pleasure class with Bob Hart. Mirage V+ also showed his great producing abilities with another set of beautiful foals on the ground this year.
The partnership between Karen Van Anrooy, who has shown Arabians for many years, and her new horse Galvanizer+/ proved very successful as they were champion in the Arabian Western Pleasure AATR class and Reserve Champion in the Arabian Western Pleasure AAOTR 40 & over class at Region XIII. They then turned their sights on Region XI where they found success winning Reserve Champion in the Arabian Western Pleasure AAOTR 50 & over class. These wins were Karen’s first regional wins since the 1980’s! Galvanizer+/ and Vallejo III, Inc. assistant trainer Kiera Robinson also earned a Top Five in the Arabian Western Pleasure class at Region IX.

Switching into the English division Vallejo Spitnfire+// owned by Vallejo III, Inc. also had another great season this time with Audrey Hart riding. They entered the 18 – 35 age division with no hesitation winning Region IX’s Arabian Country English Pleasure AAOTR 18 – 35 unanimously then moved onto Region XI winning Reserve Champion in the Arabian Country English Pleasure AAOTR 18 – 35.

Bob and Kathie’s daughter, Audrey, found success outside the show pen as she was awarded the Cedar Ridge Arabians Junior Working Western Rider of the Year, as well as, the McNutt Performance Horses Junior Western Rider of the Year at the Arabian Professional and Amateur Horsemen’s Association awards banquet held at the Scottsdale All-Arabian Show in February. “I can not think of a better way to end my youth career and make the jump to the amateur division!” said Audrey as she accepted her awards. Bob and assistant trainer Kiera Robinson have not only been busy with the show schedule but they have both given back to the Arabian community by giving numerous clinics around the country for private events and club sponsored educational days.

The world class line-up of stallions at Vallejo III, Inc. include Rohara Moon Storm+//, Link to Fame, Ferragamo WP, San Luis Obispo V, and Mirage V+. They have provided people all over the country with beautiful foals this year. We love to receive pictures and updates on the get of our stallions, so please continue sending us information on your babies. Breeding and Office Manager, Bette Mitchell, has once again had great success in getting both Vallejo III mares and mares all over the world in foal to our stallions and we are looking forward to another great foal crop next year!

As the dust settles after such a great summer, everyone on the Vallejo team turns their eager sights on U.S. Nationals at the New Mexico State Fairgrounds in Albuquerque, New Mexico October 18 – 27, 2007.
